“In a world where there are so many unique and serious challenges, we need a new type of leader. Paul’s latest book, Leadership 5.0 provides the blueprint for this. Leadership 5.0 is a fantastic, but crucially, a very important book which every leader should read.”
- Neil Francis, Author of Changing Course
"If you feel like the world is changing faster than you can keep up with, Paul Corke’s Leadership 5.0: The Future of Leadership is the reality check and roadmap you need. As a reader, I found his exploration of "Future Shock"—that feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer pace of technological and social change—to be incredibly relatable in our post-pandemic world.
What makes this book stand out is how Corke bridges the gap between where we’ve been and where we are headed. He takes you on a fascinating journey from the "Great Man Theory" of the 1800s to modern concepts like "Neuroleadership" and "Contextual Leadership". I loved the "Leadership Spectrum" he presents, which helps you identify if your organisation is still stuck in Leadership 1.0 (Command and Control) or moving toward the ultimate goal of Leadership 5.0, where leaders focus on elevating others through a hive-style, human-centered approach.
The book is packed with actionable insights, particularly the six mindsets required for the future: Aspiration, Belief, Drive, Authenticity, Resilience, and Learning Agility. Corke doesn't just lecture; he includes "Leadership Lessons" from the animal kingdom—like the collaboration of a wolf pack or the egoless leadership of dolphins—which adds a unique and memorable touch to each chapter.
Whether you are a seasoned executive or just starting your career, this book challenges you to think "Beyond Leadership". It asks us to look past our own titles and consider our impact on the world, a message that feels more urgent now than ever. If you want to move from being an "all-knowing" leader to one who facilitates change and innovation, this is must-read. It’s a compelling blueprint for anyone ready to step into the future."
"Great book about leadership in all different eras (past, present, and future) along with how it's changed over time and the future of leadership. We're in a more digital-centric future so leadership is changing, but that doesn't mean that the older methods can't be applied in modern times. Very insightful for everyone, but especially business leaders or entrepreneurs."
"Leadership 5.0: The Future of Leadership is an insightful and timely exploration of what leadership must become in an era defined by rapid technological change, global uncertainty, and evolving workplace expectations.
What makes this book stand out is its ability to connect traditional leadership principles with the demands of a highly digital, interconnected, and human-centered future. The author presents leadership not as a static concept but as an evolving discipline that requires adaptability, emotional intelligence, innovation, and ethical decision-making.
The discussions around technology, AI, workforce transformation, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership are especially relevant. Instead of portraying the future as something to fear, the book presents it as an opportunity for leaders to be more intentional, inclusive, and visionary.
Another strength is the practical nature of the insights. Readers rethink leadership and gain strategies for developing resilience, navigating disruption, building strong organisational cultures, and leading diverse teams effectively.
Whether you are an executive, entrepreneur, educator, nonprofit leader, or emerging professional, this book provides insightful perspectives on how leadership must evolve to remain effective and impactful in the years ahead.
A compelling and relevant read for anyone preparing to lead in the next generation of business and society."
"This is an excellent book on leadership although not everyone will get the full meaning from the book on how leadership will change in the future. This book is great for students, professionals and leaders looking to take their leadership thinking to the next level while still understanding how leadership has developed to today. Its really insightful and has got me thinking about how I need to lead now and in the future."
"I found Paul Corke's Leadership 5.0: The Future of Leadership to be a really interesting read. It takes a fresh look at what leadership means today, and it gave me a lot to think about. I liked how Corke breaks leadership down into five levels, from the old "boss tells you what to do" style all the way up to leaders who lift up other leaders. It's a simple scale, and I could easily place past managers I've had on it. The part on emotional intelligence really stood out to me. Corke explains that good leaders need more than just smarts. They need empathy and a real way of connecting with people. He shares research showing that leaders with high emotional intelligence often do better than those who lean only on their job title. I also liked the section on what workers want now, especially after the pandemic, like flexibility and purpose. Corke introduces the Japanese idea of Ikigai, which is about finding work that matches what you love, what you're good at, and what the world needs. My favourite feature is the "Quick Reminder" and "To Do" lists at the end of each chapter. They turn the book into something you can actually use, not just read. I think this book would be helpful for anyone who leads a team, hopes to lead one day, or just wants to understand how the workplace is changing."
"Firstly the new hardback version of the book has a lovely finish so great product as a whole. I like the way the book explores the past, present and future of Leadership and how leadership has been shaped through the ages along with lessons we can learn from animals. Insight into mega trends of the future, how we all need to adapt and how leadership 5.0 is essential for our future success is insightful. Especially if we are to have a future based on the mega trends to come. The spectrum of Leadership and how leadership development needs to adapt provides essential reading on leadership. If you want to understand leadership in line with modern and future times this is a must read."
